Matt Forde announces nationwide comedy tour

February 27, 2018 by Maggie Kelly Leave a Comment

Following a sold-out and critically acclaimed Edinburgh Festival Fringe run, the UK’s leading political comedian and star of Dave’s award-nominated Unspun Matt Forde is taking his new show on a nationwide tour from 25th March – 8th June which includes a run at London’s Soho Theatre from 3rd-7th April. In turbulent political times, find the funny side of the worldwide political shitstorm as Matt picks apart the rhetoric, reacts to our Conservative/DUP/Labour/SNP (delete as appropriate) government and celebrates the best and worst coming out of Westminster. Now with added Trump

A former advisor to the Labour Party, Matt is currently hosting the fourth series of Unspun on Dave. Produced by Avalon, Unspun was nominated for Best Entertainment Programme at the 2017 Broadcast Digital Awards. In the lead up to the 2017 General Election, Matt was a regular guest on the One Show, commenting on the best and most bizarre moments of the campaign trail. Matt’s other TV credits include: Have I Got News For You (BBC One), The Royal Variety Performance (ITV), Mock The Week (BBC Two), Rory Bremner’s Coalition Report andRory Bremner’s Election Report (BBC Two), Question Time (BBC One), This Week (BBC One), Newsnight (BBC Two) and Daily Politics (BBC Two).

Matt’s London show, The Political Party, has been a sell-out during its monthly residency at Westminster’s The Other Palace for nearly five years. Matt has brought Parliament to life with his stand-up and debate with some of politics’ most powerful and notorious figures, including Tony Blair, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Lord Adonis, Vince Cable, Ed Balls, Ruth Davidson, Alastair Campbell, Michael Portillo, Harriet Harman, Nigel Farage, Neil Kinnock, Alan Johnson, Lord Prescott, Jack Straw and Dame Tessa Jowell. The now-weekly Political Party Podcast has amassed over 840,000 downloads on Soundcloud, hit the top spot of the iTunes comedy chart, was picked as the Daily Telegraph’s podcast of the week, and was nominated for the Internet Award in the 2015 Chortle Awards.
