Calling all Writers: Contributors wanted for Theatre Bubble

December 5, 2016 by Tom Bailey Leave a Comment

news-copy

Since launching in 2011 Theatre Bubble has become an online hub for Theatre News and Reviews in the UK. It is completely run by volunteers, each of whom has a passion for UK theatre and live performance. If you share our passion and would like to help contribute to making UK theatre even better, then we’d like to hear from you.

Theatre Bubble is dedicated to creating a diverse industry and we particularly welcome applications from anyone who believes their background is under-represented in the arts.

We are currently looking for: Editors, Bloggers, Reviewers and Opinion pieces.

Editors

Fancy helping to decide the editorial direction of Theatre Bubble? Do you want to commission stories and manage your own team of writers? Then why not join our Editorial Team?

We’re specifically looking for someone to take over News and Comment. Reporting on the latest theatre industry news and commissioning comment from industry insiders. We want Theatre Bubble to be a platform for debate and discussion at the heart of UK theatre, and as our News and Comment editor you would be at the centre of that vision.

We’re also happy to hear suggestions about other areas you think we should cover on Theatre Bubble. If you’ve got a suggestion for an area of content you’d like to oversee then we’d love to hear from you.

We’re happy to hear from individuals or if you’d like to share the responsibility of running a section on Theatre Bubble we’re happy to hear from people looking to job share. If you are looking to job share please make a joint application and let us know how you see it working.

If you’re interested please email editorial@theatrebubble.com with a link to examples of your writing and an outline of what you are interested in doing, and why you think Theatre Bubble is the right place to do it.

Bloggers

This is a pivotal period for UK theatre and we’re interested in hearing about what’s going on in the lives of people in the industry and how those changes are affecting them. No matter if you’re just starting out, still in training or you’re a seasoned professional – we want you to share your experiences.

Theatre Bubble is the perfect platform for hosting your theatre blog. Not only does it offer you a completely ready made blogging platform, all you’ll need to do is login and get started, it also means your blog will be right under the nose of the 4,000 unique viewers Theatre Bubble attracts each month.

You can write your blog under your own name, or if you’d rather keep it confidential we’re happy for you to publish under an alias. Either way we think it’s important for the industry as a whole that we share as much as possible about what’s happening in the industry and how it’s affecting us and our lives.

If you would like to start blogging on Theatre Bubble just email blogs@theatrebubble.com and we’ll set you up with an account.

Reviewers

We’re constantly looking for people to join our reviewing team. If you’d be interested please drop Alex Wood, Reviews Editor, an email at reviews@theatrebubble.com with an example of your work.

Opinions

We are always looking for people who’d be interested in giving their opinion on the latest news and current affairs in theatre. If you have an opinion about the state of British theatre then we want to help you get heard.

If you’d like to join the writing team just send us a sample article to news@theatrebubble.com and we’ll take it from there. Or alternatively, if you’d rather just be contacted for comment when we run stories, please drop us an email to the same address with a list of your expertise and the sort of topics you’d be interested in responding to.

All positions at Theatre Bubble are voluntary, there is no minimum or maximum time commitment. All that we ask is that you have a passion for live performance and a commitment to help make Theatre Bubble a platform for debate, discovery and development of the industry we all love.
