Help Save Newcastle’s Alphabetti Theatre

September 6, 2016 by Lake Gregory Leave a Comment

Alphabetti Theatre

The Alphabetti Theatre, a 50 seat venue based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is facing closure due to mounting financial pressures. As a result, the theatre is turning to Kickstarter in order to raise the funds required to keep running.

First founded in 2012 to create a platform for emerging and experienced artists in the North East to experiment and evolve, the Alphabetti Theatre has since worked with over five thousand artists. The theatre also puts new audiences at the forefront of its programme, with all tickets either priced under £10 or on a Pay What You Feel scheme.

According to Artistic Director Ali Pritchard, in the current political and financial climate “it’s important to have an affordable place where people can be entertained, educated and feel safe in a welcoming environment for all.”

You can support the Alphabetti Theatre’s campaign on Kickstarter here.
