Unearthed had a groundbreaking year in 2015 (yes, we’re shameless). Finding critical acclaim and being listed as one of the Guardian readers’ favourite stage shows of 2015 was an exciting experience for all involved, and 2016 looks set to continue this trend with a second tour and exciting new venues.
The show from emerging playwright Alys Metcalf (fresh from the Royal Court Young Writers Programme) tells the story of estranged twins Ben and Eliza – reunited through completing a series of bizarre tasks left for them by their late father in his will. The show has already been gaining a huge amount of attention, with David Suchet OBE, who supports the company, called the production “heart-warming”.
Laden with significance and pertinence, the production supports The Stroke Association and Carers Trust UK. It stars Lizzie Stables who is best known for playing Chloe in The Inbetweeners and Chris Ashby, who has recently finished playing Christopher Boone in The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time for the National Theatre.
Unearthed is playing at St James Studio on 29th March, and you can find out more details at www.foliotheatre.co.uk.
