Once again we had a great selection of scripts. This time around a theme emerged…
For the March event, we’re showcasing female playwrights and female roles. All we need now is a fine cast of actors and 4 top-notch directors.
Page to Stage comprises directed, rehearsed readings of 4 new theatre scripts with feedback from an industry panel, plus plenty of opportunity to meet people. As this is a networking evening, run on a voluntary basis, all roles are unpaid.
See below for casting breakdowns. Applications welcome from all backgrounds. The roles on offer are female; there is no gender specification regarding the directors.
ACTORS
Requirements / time commitment:
– The event is to showcase new writing, so clear delivery, good characterisation and strong reading skills are essential.
– Scripts are sent out in advance. Actors should be very familiar with the lines (not off-book).
– Cast and director meet on the night, with just over an hour to rehearse.
Submission:
– Please submit your Spotlight link, showreel link and a biog of no more than 75 words, plus any other information relevant to a rehearsed reading.
– Please ensure your biog is up-to-date – it will be included in the programme if you are cast.
– Feel free to state which role(s) you are interested in. (Final casting, however, may differ from this.)
– Actors confident playing up/down in age are welcome to apply.
DIRECTORS
Requirements / time commitment:
– Working in a small space and a limited timeframe, the directors need to be adaptable and imaginative. Showcasing the new writing remains the paramount objective.
– Scripts are sent out in advance. Preliminary planning is encouraged (e.g. seeing if props are needed).
– Cast and director meet on the night, with just over an hour to rehearse.
Submission:
– Please send a short note outlining relevant theatre experience, along with your biog and CV, StagePro link etc.
– Please ensure your biog is up-to-date – it will be included in the programme if you are chosen as one of our 4 directors.
Contact details: Please email your submission to Miranda Harrison, Page to Stage Organiser, at london@artists-anonymous.org.
Deadline: Monday 9 March.
