Call for Submissions – The Place – Summer 2015

March 22, 2015 by Tom Bailey Leave a Comment

Theatre pieces wanted for a new outdoor theatre in East London (Paid)

The Space is a performing arts centre based in a converted church on the Isle of Dogs, East London.

We have been commissioned to programme a new (covered) outdoor theatre in Canary Wharf and are looking for high quality pieces that would fit an intimate amphitheatre.

We’re seeking proposals for our inaugural season, with visiting companies filling guest performance slots in the last two weeks of May and first two weeks of August.

Pieces should be ready for performance and family friendly, last no longer than one hour.  There will be no stage lighting available on the stage, and only a basic sound system.

The theatre seats up to 50 people. Tickets to the performances will be free, therefore a fee will be paid to the company.

We are also seeking proposals for supplementary workshops for which a separate fee would be paid.

Please apply by sending a completed form, including videos of the show and expected fee.  You can download a proposal form from the news section of our website – www.space.org.uk  or request one by e-mailing info@space.org.uk or calling 020 7515 7799.  The deadline for proposals to be returned is 5pm on 30th March.

If you are interested in hearing about future seasons please email info@space.org.uk to go on our mailing list.
